Description
There’s a hush that comes just before twilight, when the colors get bold and wild. Amethyst Sky is my way of capturing that in-between, where the sun is still holding on, but the purples and blues start to take over the day. I built this painting layer by layer with a palette knife and intuition.
That golden path through the center almost painted itself, it felt like a moment of clarity cutting through the noise. The dark forms on either side? Maybe trees. Maybe feelings. Either way, they frame that glimmer of light just right. It’s a piece for anyone who’s ever stood still in their kitchen or on their porch and just stared at the sky, trying to take it all in before it changed.
Maybe you’ve been there too. Maybe you’re there now.
This is the original, full-scale 5 x 7 oil painting and there is only 1, created on wood with painted edges and a protective UV finish. Frame is not included. The piece is signed on the front and includes a certificate of authenticity.
