Rest Between Rows is the first painting in my Backbone Collection, a series honoring the quiet, uncelebrated strength found in rural life. This piece was inspired by the farmland of Sussex County, Delaware, where weathered tractors sit still in tall grass, not forgotten, but resting.
In this scene, the land wraps gently around the machine, almost like a thank you. The work is done. The pace has slowed. What remains is stillness, presence, and dignity.
